Pengaruh Problem Based Learning (PBL) terhadap Kecerdasan Emosional Siswa SMP

Abstract

Problem Based Learning (PBL) is an active learning approach that starts with an unstructured contextual problem. Emotional intelligence is the ability of a person to manage his emotional life with intelligence; maintain emotional harmony and disclosure through self-awareness skills, self-control, self-motivation, empathy and social skills. The purpose of this research was to look the effect of PBL on mathematics learning to the students’ emotional intelligence. This study was used quasi experimental with one group pretest posttest design. The subjects were 38 students of VIII-B. The result showed there was an effect of Problem Based Learning (PBL) on mathematics learning to the emotional intelligence of junior high school students. The influence is a positive influence. Activities in PBL contribute to the development of students' emotional intelligence.
